2013-14 Diversity Article Awards

Description

PURPOSE
To award the best student scholarly articles on
diversity issues and prepare students submitting articles for a publication.

Four awards of $300 each are available for the best articles written by student authors on diversity issues, including but not limited to ethnic minority, GLBT, gender, and physical disability.

Requirements

ELIGIBILITY

The submitter of a research paper must:
• be a Psi Chi member,
• be a graduate or undergraduate student, and
• be the primary and first author (other students
may be coauthors, but faculty may not).

STYLE / STANDARDS

1. Submissions must be an electronic document
written in English conforming strictly to the
instructions in the Publication Manual of the
American Psychological Association (APA).

2. The text of the article should be 1,500 to 3,000
words (double-spaced) in 12-point font. In addition
to the text, the paper should include a title page,
120-word abstract, references, and any tables,
figures, or notes that are necessary. Applicants
are encouraged to include photos, illustrations,
graphics, checklists, boxes, and/or bullet lists with
their articles.

3. The article should focus on a specific topic of
scholarship related to diversity issues including
but not limited to race/ethnicity, GLBT, gender,
or physical disability; or the article may profile
a psychologist who has made noteworthy
contributions to advancing diversity issues in
psychology.

4. The author should submit a 150-200 word
biography written in third person and a 600KB digital photo.
